Greetings from the UK

Yes, I am still alive!  Week three of vacation and I thought I would check in and let you know I'm still among the living.  I will admit it now, before my official WW weigh in a week from Saturday - I will have a gain.  I am completely off the wagon.  I have been making sure I get my water and fruits/veggies, but other than that... phft...nada.  Tomorrow I am headed to a local gym and will concentrate on that for the next few days while I'm here.  It's only 3GBP per day for the gym, which is less than a mile from the house, so it's off I go tomorrow.

Dugger Family in London!  Walked right by them :)

I have done London (saw the Dugger Family!) and have toured around the Yorkshire area, done a ton of shopping (now I actually have some clothes to wear when I get home...I literally had no winter clothes that fit at home!) and have done a lot of relaxing, which is nice..I needed that.  We are headed to Castle Howard (York) on Thursday for the day and then I just have Friday and the weekend and then, sadly, it's over :(  Three weeks goes by so fast!

I'll be back to somewhat regular blogging next week...in the meantime, I am hoping and praying that the scales here at Ann's place are SERIOUSLY off (my 3rd day here it showed I had gained 9 pounds and now it's showing 11...).  I am expecting some of a gain, but hoping it's not 11 pounds!

This is it

Pin It Well folks, this is it.  My last post before I go away to England.  I am sure you will hear from me at some point while I'm away, but by no means as much as usual :)

First of all I wanted to mention that a dear, dear family member passed away today.  My cousin Eric (Mom's first cousin) passed away sadly.  He and his wife, Sharon, were missionaries in the Philippines.  I don't have any details yet, but am sad that I won't get to see Eric again, this side of Heaven.  I am so grateful that he and Sharon made it to Halifax this summer when they were home to Canada for a visit and that I got to see them.  Eric, you will be greatly missed.

So here are the details I promised you all:

Weight lost today = 0.7lbs (yay!!!)
Total pounds lost to date = 115.9
Pounds to get to Dr Val's goal = 8.7
Inches lost since May 2011 = 12
Inches lost to date = 80.75 (plus whatever I've lost in the upper chest area (above the girls)...no recent measurements for that area...must remember to do that next time!)

My BMI has gone from 45.6 to 27.9
My body fat % has gone from 48 to 30.7 (apparently for someone of my age, height, etc., this is in the healthy range!!)

I am all packed and ready to go.  I don't have to leave for the airport til 6pm, so I have the day to relax.  The only thing I have to do before I go is remove my A/C from the window (I'd hate for a hurricane to do it for me while I'm gone!!).  I will not be weighing in (I don't think) while I am gone.  I am not sure if I will keep a food journal or just make a conscious effort to eat healthy whenever possible (with treats throughout the trip, obviously).  I plan to move around lots, so hopefully that'll help me at least maintain while I'm away.  That's all I want really :)

Cheerio everyone! "See" you in a few weeks :)

Second last post

Pin It After today I will likely only have one more post before I leave for England.  Tomorrow I have a personal training session in the morning and Saturday morning I weigh in.  My trainer is going to take my measurements tomorrow (last taken in May I think), so on Saturday I'll give you an update on total loss (hopefully no gain!) and inches lost...I don't think I've posted inches lost here before...

I am officially done work until September 27th, which is a great feeling.  I'm off tomorrow, so that'll give me time to do laundry and run some last minute errands.  I'm nearly packed - just stuff I wore this week that I want to take with me that I have to wash tomorrow and then that's it!  I still only have plans for London for two days - other than that, I'll wing it I guess :)  Anonymous (aka Ann) says she has some things in mind, so I suspect I may end up like a cruise guest...wake up in the morning with my itinerary for the day taped to my door! haha  I actually like having not much planned - it's been over a year since I had vacation and I need some downtime.

I can't recall if I told you how good my Adzuki Bean and Squash soup was?  It was very good - not so good the first night, but re-heated the next day it was great!  I have some in the freezer for when I get home.  Still have to get rid of the barley and bean dish I made a couple weeks ago...might pull out a couple containers from the freezer to send home with my trainer tomorrow :)

Off to finish cleaning...talk to everyone again before I leave on Saturday.
